 IMx515 won't boot
Hi,
My tablet sometimes gets locked at the first boot screen. The picture of the android robot with the word android underneath. When I reset it more often than not sticks at this screen then sometimes it gets past the penguin logo onto the simple text word android (not the graphic) or it gets stuck on the screen calibration screen.
Mine is the one speaker model with the two fixing screws near the ports. I have tried the 12.18 and 01.11 firmware updates. The first android logo is dark grey with white eyes not the more common pale green.
I would appreciate any help from anyone out there
Many Thanks.

 Re: IMx515 won't boot
I'm replying to my own post as I've got my tablet working. So for anybody with the same problem this might help.
1. I opened my tablet as per instructions on a youtube video. 2. I removed the internal SD card and installed it in a card reader on my mac. 3. There are 4 partitions, 3 are linux ext and the forth is the android system. 4. I used drive image to backup all the partitions, erased the card and reinstalled from the image. 5. I reinserted the card and rebooted now my tablet boots first time every time.
Before this it would sometimes only boot after 2 or 3 resets or as in this last time, jut froze completely. All I can think of is the partiton table on the card was corrupted or the card itself is faulty but time will tell.
I hope this helps anyone else out there having the same problem, or if anyone has any other ideas, I would be interested to hear.

Hi Jiongtang, I just went to youtube and searched for "open herotab" the first entry was from slatedroid. This is the address. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3_gvbomLoCMIn the comments below it recommends to use a metal nail file as it is flat and thin. I hope this helps

I'm in the same boot, but don't have an image of the card. So, could you please share your backed up image?
Thank you.

 Re: IMx515 won't boot
Hi,
Sorry but I didn't keep a copy of the card image. Are you running windows of mac os? Because on the youtube video it gives web addresses for windows tools to copy and restore card images as well as various ROM images for different models. AsI don't run windows, these were no good to me.
If this doesn't help, let me know and I'll try to make a new copy and attach it.

 Re: IMx515 won't boot
I watched the youtube video. The files which were in that web address are not there now. I tried with one of the new files, but did not work! So, I'd appreciate if you make a backup of yours and attache it here.
Thank you.

Hi,
I've made a copy of my card for you, it's in mac DMG format, however I can't attach the file to this text so if you send me your email address I email you it as an attachment.
