 Linux not booting
Hi,

I've upgraded my bootloader, installed Android 2.1 (which is brilliant btw) and Linux 5.5update, but since the upgrade Linux doesn't boot, just sits on the white loading screen with the SmartQ logo in the middle of the screen and the moving bar at the very bottom. I've tried reinstalling the linux image (not preserving any existing data that could affect things).

Anyone experienced this with the upgrade? Any ideas?

Cheers

Chris

Thanks for the response and sorry for the delay in getting back, been away on hols. The initial screen has changed (have the black screen now with the option for the linux, android or CE), if I click on linux the screen goes white with the logo in the middle and at the very bottom of the screen the line goes from side

You should have either a blue or a purple startup screen. Reflash with the updated linux.

Just to check, the latest Linux being SmartQV5-Linux-V5.5updated (datestamp of the actual binary is 14/07/10). I'm pretty sure I've gone through the flash process a couple of times, but will give it another go.

The progress bar (at the bottom of the white screen) goes left and right for a while before it just stops

Thanks again :)

I'm still puzzled by your reference to a black boot screen ... it should be purple.

Currently flashing with the linux image, will report back how it goes.

As for the boot screen, it is like http://nitekonline.com/media/newboot.png (I should clarify it is a v5 though)

Flash complete and still stuck booting, white screen with smartdevices logo in the middle, Version 5.5 on the right and progress bar at the bottom of the screen

Okay, you have the purple boot screen.

I think the only thing you can do is to redo the FWDN process - and start again.
