Here's a custom rom based on stock 1028 with many tweaks added by me. I tried to make it a good stock base so everyone configures it the way they want.

-Modded Settings.apk: Added Bluetooth settings, moved Ethernet settings under Wireless & networks, fixed English spelling mistakes in some places, added missing Greek translations, removed "System updates" & "Baseband version" from "About device"
-Modded SystemUI.apk from Viewsonic ViewPad 10e. Includes MagicBar for quick sound, brightness, wifi enable-disable, screen rotation lock. Removed sound +/- buttons from statusbar, changed icons & moved all buttons to the right. Removed for now: statusbar icon for safe external SD card removal, icon when HDMI cable is plugged in.
-wifi.supplicant_scan_interval=15 (decreased wifi scan interval from 150 to 15 again because it caused wifi instability when connecting)
-Included GoogleBackupTransport, GoogleCalendarSync & GoogleContactsSync from Viewsonic ViewPad 10e
-Removed stock launcher because it caused many problems & force closes
-Included busybox 1.19.3 & symlinks in /system/xbin
-Included LauncherPro
-Moved: wifi.interface=wlan0, wlan.driver.status=unloaded, init.svc.wpa_supplicant=stopped, ril-impl.support=0 from init.rc to build.prop
-More stable than the previous version

Installation instructions:
Warning: This update requires a factory reset, that means you will lose all your data, so take a backup first.
1. Download the update-v1.1-M8-1G.zip
2. Plug an external sdcard to the tablet & move the update-v1.1-M8-1G.zip in the external sdcard
3. Reboot the tablet and when the boot logo appears press and hold the menu button until the 3e recovery menu appears
4. Select apply update from SD
5. Select the update.zip & wait until the installation completes
6. Select wipe data/factory reset
7. Reboot the tablet and you're ready!

Made all steps but when restarting after update+ wipe

i get error "process (com.android.launcher) has stopped unexpectedly.

ok it seems that i have "new" version of Haipad 1GB.
Thats why it is not working. Wrong drivers or something like that...

MikeNG could you please upload firmware 1101 for the "new" Haipad?

Make sure you have initial version on Haipad 1GB before installing this update.

Thanks for your work. Is it worth the update though? Anything new? Or previous problems fixed? Mainly permanent 1mbps wifi fix, doesn't wake up after sleeping with wifi on and wifi not connecting unless you reboot the tablet.

Wifi still has the 1Mbps problem and problems reconnecting after sleep, bluetooth also has a similar problem, after sleep it doesn't turn on, you have to unplug the dongle & plug it in again in order to work. The stock launcher started force closing like mad...... I must take a look to see if anything can be fixed.
