Post Haipad M8 Not Responding, Went Black after App Installation
Okay, I just bought a Haipad M8 and have moved to Tanzania, so I don't have access to any service centers. I installed several apps and walked away from my m8 and came back to a black screen and it being unresponsive. I want to just revert the OS to the factory settings. Is there an easier way than flashing the device, because I'm a newb without any prior knowledge of FlashTool, Clockwork, USB Drivers, etc.

Is there anyway someone could hold my hand and explain a detailed step by step process on how to fix my M8. I currently have no response with the reset button or Power/Menu Buttons -- except for my PC recognizing the Vdfu drive.

I've read several forums and have downloaded: recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.6-v1.0alpha-m8, M8Flash-v002, USB Driver, SuperOneClick, and the latest M8 Firmware -- but I have no absolutely no idea where to save these files, how to operate them, and how they communicate with my M8.

PLEASE HELP.

Thank you to anyone who gives any assistance.

Hold your breath, and read the FAQ at: http://www.chinadigitalcomm.com/haipad-m8-vimicro-vc882-t10830.html, this happens from time-to-time and GrisGreyler painstakingly documented a lot of the common problems.

Thank you for responding so quickly. Question(s). I have Windows 7, do I need to install Virtual Box and run the FlashTool within Virtual Box? Which version of FlashTool should I use and do you have a link to the download?

Thank you.

OMG, I got it to finally switch to the vortex drive and then flash the updated ROM! Unbelievable, thank you for the post -- I almost gave up hope last night. How do I switch the language back to English?

Thanks again!

I have 2 3g dongles (ZTE z-3570 and Huawei ec122) and a phone which can act as a dial-up connection for my computer. Can't figure out how to get the Haipad M8 to recognize any of them through the USB port. Any ideas or are they not possible?

I'm not familiar with PUTTY -- I keep getting a Fatal Error when running the transport-usb command in adb to port 5037....I also don't know how to set my EC122 dongle to modem only. Please advise.

Use the cmd.exe instead of the putty.
