Finally the XDA forum's user PSQUARE has fixed wifi on the firmware posted from JackDeer some time ago on 4pda forum and linked also in this forum. THANKS to both! I can not wait to try it but first I wanted share with all you this very good news. As always install the ROM at your risk, I didn't yet tried it, so carefully and ENJOY

INSTALL - HOW TO

0) Backup...
1) Copy ROM and recovery on root of sdcard and restart
2) go to recovery mode (hold power and volume+)
3) wipe data and cache partition
4) install zip from sdcard --> choose zip from sdcard --> Novo8-ICS-jackdeer+psquare-...zip (ROM)
5) go back - mounts and storage
6) connect USB cable --> mount USB storage
7) rename uImage_recovery to uImage_recovery1 and uImage_recovery-ics to uImage_recovery
8) restart - click on "Reset tablet"
9) go to recovery mode for auto-reset
10) power on - !!! rename recovery with ES_File_Explorer (reverse 4) !!!

It works! But how to get market and gapps installed?

You have to use root explorer to copy the /[Folder]/system contents of the sdcard to the /system folder on the main device (it must be mounted as R/W to do this by the way). Get a root explorer APK and transfer it to the Novo 8 by flash drive, SD card or WiFi File Explorer.

Everything works perfectly for me on this ROM except for market - "server error". I'm seeing if I can come up with a solution; I asked psquare on xda about it.

I tried this ROM, works well apart from a few issues:
1. No bluetooth support, or all the other goodies that Cheeyee has managed to get into 2.3.4 of course! They are too good to miss out on.
2. USB slave doesn't work, but that's an issue with ICS anyway. Tried an app which is supposed to make this work but doesn't.
3. 4.0.1 so not the latest codebase.
4. How to sign in to a google account? Maybe this happens when gapps in installed but I gave up after a couple of attempts to get them running.

But still it's fantastic work and will make our tablets so much better in the long run.

I tried beta3 yesterday. Fundamental problem is that psquare will not be fixing the screen jitter problem, which is a complete show-stopper for me as it is very difficult to click on icons. Also the screen redraw is not smooth at all. 4.0.1 was much better in this respect. So I have decided to stick with Cheeyee's patch8a for the moment as it is much more stable and Cheeyee seems to be keen to take time and make a well polished distribution.
Such a shame, ICS offers a lot of potential. The CM distributions are very rough at the moment but I'm sure will get better in time. I'd love to be a tester but also want to use my tablet so have ot have something that works reasonably well.

could any body help me in downloading the best ICS for ainol novo 8 advanced
because i downloaded this one "ICS_4.0.3-Novo8-psquare_1.0RC2"
because the last rom link requires owner permission to be downloaded

the 3g dongle and the properties button is not working and there is no notification area.....
and the touch is very bad and i cannot make any shortcuts using the long touch on apps
