The Way for upgrade on ZT-180 and announcements
1: The editon offer two ways for upgrade,by TF card and by USB cable
2: If your pad was burned with previous "burntool-v07.2" before go out from factory and was ever not burned by "burntool-7.41.exe" ,
(Way of judging: Copy all files in ZT-Update to TF Card's root directory ,insert tf card to slot and press left side of function key at the same
time when you turn on the pad.If there is no any prompting on the screen,then this is the situation)
Then you have to choose the burning way by USB cable for the first time.
After the first burning ,you have both choise with USB cable and TF card.

3: This software package has self-taking burning tool ¡°burntool_7.41.exe¡±,In order to reduce the packed file size,the
common files for these two burning way are put in root directory of zt-update of TF card

4¡¢There are two resolutions include 1024X576 and 1024X600 £¬default is 1024X600£»
If the screen resolution is 1024x576, pls change zImage_1024x576 to zImage¡£
6¡¢ USB burning way£º
1)Copy all the files in root directory of zt-update and put together with burntool_7.41.exe;
2)execute burntool_7.41.exe;
3)connect tablet with pc with USB cable
4)Press Esc button at the same time when you turning on the tablet£¬when the status square turns green ,pls click ¡°Start¡±£¬
You do not need to choose ¡°setting¡±¡£
5)After burning successfully,pull up usb cable, and press ESC button to go to the desktop£¬do not need to reset.
6)If this is the first time for burning of your PC ,it will point out installing driver at the fourth step.The driver named "secbulk.sys" is put in the file named"Burn_with_USB".
Special emphasis£ºAs the firmware contains SPL program, so there are two issues which should be paid attention to
1£© SPL upgrade is risky, if power cut happens in the process, the netbook has to be repaired.
Time of duration for this risk is less than 5s. so it can not be power cutted during upgrade process.¡£
2£©After SPL upgrade, it can not burn back to common edition, it can only upgrade to new edition from zenithink ,not back to old any more¡£
7¡¢ TF Card burning way
Copy files in ZT-update in TF card and insert TF card in slot£¬Press left side of function key at the same time when you turning on the tablet
Follow the instructions appeared on the screen, the device will do the upgrade and restart by itself,this way is faster.
Special emphasis£ºDo not use SPL file when you upgrade by TF card to avoid risk£¡

I apologize if this has been answered elsewhere, but this is the thread referred by Google.

I am trying to upgrade flash an older type ZT-180 from 1030 to 0117. When I connect the USB cable to the OTG port an power the tablet up, I am unable to get Windows to recognize the device. It will not use the secbulk.sys and secbulk.inf included with the burntool,exe in Burn_with_USB.

While I once did successfully flash from 0827 to 1030, I am at a loss to say why this will not work. Same cable, and a fresh install of WindowsXP Pro (32-bit). For the most part I am VERY happy with my ZT-180, with one exception, which is it will not connect to the Cisco APs at either my work or my school. It is the bad certificate issue that was resolved in the Android Eclair forums.

However, any idea what might be blocking the drivers?

Have you tried to flash from the micro-SD card instead USB?

I had followed the instructions to the letter, including doing the power up by pushing the round button on the face and the power button together. What is odd is that this same procedure worked for the first flash, but then I had to rebuild the test system. Now it fails to see the device.
